I'll make this more entertaining later. Here's all the important stuff.
Privacy policy. That gets into the legal-speak and all the things that protect you (the reader or subscriber) and me (the company and author). Basically, if you subscribe, I'll ask for an email address. It doesn't have to be your main address. I'd recommend using an email alias (post on this coming soon). I'll also prompt for a name. In the future, I might take surveys that will truly be anonymous. Why anonymous? Because I'm not here to harvest and sell data, and I don't want the liability of storing any of your data beyond the bare minimum.
There will be some limited use of cookies, mainly to make sure you don't have to go through the login process over and over again. The legal speak includes a bunch of stuff I never intend on using, but it's good to have in the legal stuff, anyway.
The more important point – By design, I am not collecting your personal data, and I encourage you to use an email alias instead of your primary email address. In practice, however, my site is hosted by ghost.org, and I may use plugins or Javascript libraries that make use of cookies in a way that I cannot control. With that in mind, all the legal speak is important to have in place, since I cannot control every third party that I might have to interact with.
Terms & Disclaimers. This has the legal-speak, but basically everything in this blog is a best attempt at accuracy but cannot be guaranteed, especially as I focus not technology that is constantly evolving. My posts on careers should not be interpreted as advice. Take my observations and information and then apply that to your own situation. I am here to help give more information to help you make more fully informed decisions. However, no piece of information will apply to 100% of circumstances. Ultimately, you are in control of your own decisions.
Subscription information. How to subscribe and what that gets you other than the warm, fuzzy feeling that you help me stay in business to write another day.
